welp folks, i'm back from thailand! it was a fun 5 day. worst part of the entire trip was the long arduous flight. the food on the plane was so bad, i felt like vomitting at certain parts of the flight. got to visit temples, shrines, palaces, zoos, and etc. then there were elephant ride, massage, cabaret show, elephant shows, culture show, parasailing, underwater adventure, and etc. you can chk them out on my dotphoto album (located on the left). the pix have been uploaded. ooooh yah! guess what! i bumped into dng (friend from my highschool who will be joining me @ berkeley this fall) on the plane! oh yah, the plane was actually to taiwan to transit to thailand. turns out dng was in transit to thailand too! but unfortunately we were on 2 different tours. we separated @ thailand and guess what, we bumped into each other at coral beach and once more @ the pattaya park beach resort with 52 floor revolving hotel (foto 201). as for the cabaret show, it's freaken scary. some of those ladies are so pretty looking, they actually look better than most girls! dng said the same thing (foto 211/212). then there were mosquitos. got some nasty bites. well, i can go on and on with this but i'll just cut it here. i mean 1 picture is worth 1,000 words and with 212 pix, that's 212,000 words.

went out with horacio and ungsunghero to do some shopping and sorta a farewell dinner for ungsunghero & me, but we all know it's for ungsunghero. i actually got a good harvest this time, coming home with headfones + 5star notebooks (got to use my $3 staples business rewards check). the headfones i thought was actually a pretty good deal. KOSS CORPORATION/AUDIO Lightweight Closed-Type Collapsible Headphones + Koss Lightweight Ear-Bud Headphones for $15 total. not sure if this deal is available online. the best thing is the headfones come with volume control and a really long cable (not those short weenie ones most of them come with).

many ppl i know have recently been affected by the w32.blaster.worm. one easy way to know that you've been affected is when u go online, your computer shuts off with a message that looks somewhat like: "System will be shutdown. started by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. Remote Procedure Call". ppl behind routers/firewalls dont seem to be affected because they have the certain security ports blocked from outside access. most ppl that are getting attacked by this worm are ppl on dialup. this worm doesn't require you to open a file, read a email, or even visit a website. as long as you go online and are unprotected, it'll attack you. the real problem isn't the virus, but exists within windows xp. apparently windows xp has a large trojan horse within itself (maybe a backdoor where microsoft can enter and monitor what you're doing). this is a large security hole allowing the user to practically do anything they want with your computer. the trojan horse gives the hacker complete control of your computer. all the worm does is propagate itself from one computer to another entering through those security holes and installing itself and starts spreading from your computer to others. microsoft had released a patch for this on 7/16 and since then i've had 3 emails from microsoft warning me about this "high security update" that i must install. of course i've installed it since i visit windowsupdate.com like 3x a week, but apparently many didn't get that email (*cough* wonder why *cough*) and failed to fix the security hole. if you've been affected, i'd suggest you run symantec's removal tool and install the MS security patch.

my temporary cellfone came in during my vacation. the fone isn't that bad, but i just no longer have the color lcd, camera capabilities, nor cool ringtones. my new cellfone: nokia 8290. so yah, ppl can now contact me on my old cell #. it hasn't changed.
