sigh, another week of school.

thanks to mandalayx for donating this article. u remember that old beeper comercial (i think it was called smart beeper or something like that), but u have an fat guy sitting his couch and seems to be relaxing, but u hear a buzzing sound. when the buzzing stops, he picks up his fone and calls his friend and says buzz me again. (somewhat stupid commercial since it'd be easier to just call yourself) but anyway, here it is in reality, the cell fone to sex toy convertor. ;p

horrible day. sigh... horrible day. one of my worst days ever. started out fine. got up early with cd-mcc to go search for good camping sites for a trip during summer. 3hrs away from berkeley with pouring rain, slippery roads, and winding mountain paths, i get into a car accident. thank god, there was no 2nd party involved and no one got hurt. i guess you can consider that the a good thing. the car is totaled and i feel really bad since i was the driver. sigh... just as i was driving along smoothly, the car slides off the road, so i try to get the car back onto the road, but over adjusted and i was about to run into the opposing lane. swerved to the right and into the side of a mountain and the car spun around. we were stuck in the mountains with no cell fone signal. but it seems like u can dial 911 using any network (cause after cd-mcc called 911, he wasn't able to make anymore fone calls). after awhile, some kewl people stopped by and helped direct traffic and made sure everything was okay and no one was hurt until the highway patrol came. many ppl stopped by and asked if we were okay (the car was a pretty ugly scene) and offer us their cellfone. the rain was still intermittently going on and off. after awhile, i noticed my sight was sorta blurry and i realized my glasses were no longer on my face. i searched it inside the car and wasn't able to find it. my only guess was it flew out of the car when the car spun because i had my window opened. the sheriff came by later and logged everything and the tow truck took the car away. the nice sheriff offered us a ride to the closest town and that was where cd-mcc contacted his parents. (no cellfone recpetion here either, so we bought a $5 calling card at the local market) cd-mcc's parents had to drive all the way out here to pick us up and take us home (a total of over 6hr driving). sigh... welp, hopefully tomorrow will be a brighter day. g'nite (-_-,)zzZZ

During Engineering Week (April 7-11) engineers were treated to a display of digital art and photographs created by their peers. The above art show entry was taken by ME grad student Ben Chui who organized the display. “This bike looked melted and reminded me of a clock from a Dali painting,� says Chui. The art is now displayed on the EJC Web site at ejc.berkeley.edu.

gomenasai! it seems like weeks since i last updated my site. but yah, school's been keeping me really busy lately. with a midterm this past wednesday, and a 5pg paper which i didn't start till thursday night due today (friday) @ 3pm. finished it 45mins before class started. hehe.

welp, i got interested in another series recently. finished all 12 episodes of Great Teacher Onizuka (JDrama) in these past few days. great series and if you haven't seen it, i'd recommend it big time. hilarious and great plot line. i'm getting the anime series right now and i'll give you my response on how that is.

laura threw a big partay tonite @ her crib. met a bunch of ppl i haven't seen in awhile including peter, oljay, amber, marco, alex, laura, then of course liam, lydia, and cd-mcc, but those dont really count since i see them at least several times a week. i got to see what a keg stand is (some ppl hold upside down on top of a beer keg and pump beer into your mouth). ppl were getting wasted everywhere. before u start making accusations about me, i'm the DD (designated driver). liam gurgle down like 4 shots of gin in less than 10secs and seemed completely wasted for some time. then cd-mcc (i'm not sure what exactly happened) started throwing up. hope he feels better tomorrow.

there has been rumors of monterey park and the san gabriel valley infected with SARS, and many seem to be very concerned and let me tell you that this is ONLY a rumor. Here's an email forwarded to me recently:

whoever started this i'd have to say is doing nothing inducing fear and panic inside the community. i agree that we must be cautious and start taking precautions, but the person that posted this as a joke has crossed the line.

i'd like to direct you to NY Times article, dated Friday 4/4/03 and i quote:

While Monterey Park has no known cases of the disease, which appears to have started in southern China and been spread abroad by airline passengers, residents of this city, which was the first in the continental United States to have an Asian majority, are growing increasingly jittery and going to great extremes to avoid infection.

i hope this clears up any misunderstanding on the SARS situation in MPK and if u have friends who believes that the San Gabriel valley has been infected, please do help clarify the situation. (^_^x)

dont forget to change your clock for daylight savings time. unfortunately we're losing an hour this time so add 1hr to your current time (ie 2am->3am). also i noticed a nifty feature in windows xp i never knew before. (win2k also has this) they actually have an automatic program to synchronize your clock. to get to this feature, goto: start -> control panel -> date and time -> internet time (tab). make sure the box next to "Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server" is checked and i'll also recommend changing the server to time.nist.gov since you know how reliable microsoft/windows can be. (-_^x). one bad thing about this feature is it only updates once a week. so after a bit probing on google, i found this link. it'll teach you exactly how to change the update frequency. i've changed mines to check every hour. very nice!

the anime world has been rather slow lately. nothing new. sigh...
